Wellbeing at Work

The workplace is a stressful and competitive environment for most people.

If we do not perform consistently in our job, there is always another person who can take our place.

Focus provides specialised training and performance coaching for businesses to deal with stress and pre-burnout.

Stress and depression costs European businesses £77 billion a year, which is only increasing right now due to lockdowns and Covid-19. Employers need to take a more proactive (approach to employees with work related stress.

Studies show that the costs of treating pre-burnout are outweighed by productivity benefits:
  • One in ten workers have taken time off work due to stress and depression – the average time lost is 36 days per episode.
  • Employees with depression report on average 5.6 hours per week of lost time, representing a serious erosion of productive capacity.
  • 81% of lost productivity time (LPT) is due to reduced performance while on the job, also known as presenteesim (the act of attending work whilst ill).*

Tim Munden, vice-president of human resources at Unilever UK, said he “firmly believed” in addressing depression and stress to bring about benefits for the business and its employees. “We aim for a 10 per cent reduction in work-related mental ill-health cases and working days lost to mental ill-health…”.

Founder of Focus, Irena-Marie, runs workshops to provide an optimal learning state to clear negative mind sets, unlock natural talent, creativity and build confidence.

In addition Irena-Marie and her partner, Rod Capps, run workshops and residential retreats for small groups from their home near Toulouse, France.  For more details please click HERE, or email for details on private retreats.

  • Considerably reduce pre-burnout, stress and anxiety.
  • Employees who feel supported work effectively, are motivated and have a clear focus on objectives.
  • Clear negative mind sets, unlock natural talent and creativity.
  • Build confidence, both internally and externally, and lay the foundations to your business success.

Formats:
  • Group sessions - one hour on-site or on-line.
  • Half-day and one-day workshops, either on-site or at La Blanque. Workshops tend to consist of eight to 12 modules, spread out of a period of weeks.
  • Residential workshops run from La Blanque.
  • One-2-one sessions for individuals.

Creative visualisation and subconscious suggestion are the fastest and safest way to relax, creating a deep sense of well-being and clarity of mind.

"Psychological health is determined by a multitude of factors and the workplace is assigned a special significance here. On the one hand, having a job is a primary aspect for promoting health. On the other hand, the requirements for employability and the type of work are changing rapidly, which in turn can have a negative impact on employees’ health." DPDHL, the world's leading mail and ogistics services Group

The CIPD is the professional body for HR and people development. The not-for-profit organisation champions better work and working lives and has been setting the benchmark for excellence in people and organisation development for more than 100 years.

What really is on your mind while at work?  Do you know we have a staggering 34 to 50 thoughts occupying our mind PER minute! Now that is exhausting – IF we allow it to be.

All these thoughts - and over 90% of them - are repetitive.  Our conscious and subconscious minds are often in conflict with one another. Positive thoughts, feelings and behaviours versus negative ones…  It is hardly surprising that we become overwhelmed from time to time - and that is why it is necessary to recognise the warning signals before it adversely affects our health.
